Breaking The Rules

It's strange that humans spent so much time building rules out of nothing, and then find it amusing and novel when those rules are ignored.
I think most successful TV shows take full advantage of this fact (eg, Buffy)

They do say that rules are made to be broken. Where's the fun if we don't make them to begin with?

And rules are meant to prevent chaos. But by our own admittance, humanity thrives on chaos, so rule breaking becomes an essential part of harbouring that chaos.

Without Chaos, Maxwell Smart would be stuck behind a desk and never have a chance with 99.
